Someone in another venue asked about megadungeons. I posted a link to Dwarf Home. Its not zipped up by level.

Anyway, I was looking over the maps and realized they need work, or make new ones. This has been on a backburner for a few years now. So, this is to let you know I have a redo in the works.

If anyone would like me to zip up the pngs and the descriptions by level, just pm me. I can put them on a downloads page, which doesn't exist yet.

I do have lot of other mapping going on, so this probably wont get too much work on it until next year. I am posting this in case some of you like the maps that are already on the site so you can download o copy them if you want to.

Doing this mostly so, if you look at them at all, you wont suddenly wonder what happened to them.

edit: I don't see placing these maps ahead of time in the Workshop.

I have fixed some backgrounds so the map is more readable. Along with changing some room floors.

For Dwarf Home, version 1, the original.

I have found most of the map files for fifth level and increased the pngs from 1200 to 2000 pixels. After I find the rest, and increase the map png size on those, I'll upload them and update the zip file. I am doing similar work on all levels. This means the zip files will beomce rather large. Level 5, witohut all pngs being upgraded in size, is over 100 megabytes.

Levels 5, 6, and 7 will be expanded. There is a waterfall on level 3 that has no corresponding map on levels below it. That is going to be part of the updates.

If anyone would prefer I have the old zip with the smaller pngs, please let me know.

Thank god for the modern age of high speed. Next time I’m at the library I’ll time the downloads. Atm, we had a snow storm and everything is very messed up. I’m glad power is back up.

I remember when my modem, no longer available, ran at 1200 bps.

I am still looking for parts of level 5, I found most of them so far.

Found link errors on the level 5 and level 6 html pages, thats fixed.

I'm going to keep the zip file with the 1200 pixel wide maps, and add a zip with the 2000 pixel maps, both for 5th level, when I get the remapping/map fixes for this level done.

I have ound all map files for level 5; however, the ones I hcanged the backghorunds on, and some wall changes, I haven't. So that means editing around 30 or more maps and making those changes again.

I have made png files of 2000 pixels for levels 1, 6, and 7. I do the same for them, 1200 pixel and 2000 pixel png zips. That includes all levels for this dungeon.

Lake, ah, I have to work on two lakes, etc.

Maybe get finished this year.

I hope I'm not boring anyone with this stuff, but anyway.

Issues with maps on level 4. I thought I had gotten rid of the orange walls for rooms and passageways on all maps. I hadn't and I'm not finding all of the maps I have already done. So I'm working on that.

I do have the png files, so I can always import those into a fcw map file and trace them out and export the new map/size. It would just take longer if I have to do too many of them.

As mentioned before, I have found all of level 5. And I'm working on level 4.

Level 1 maps have been updated. There are 2 zip files, one contains 800x600 maps and the other contains 2000x1500 pixel maps. The 800x600 still show the S for secret doors. Note that there is a passageway also labeled S.

The 2000 pixel wide maps don't have Secret doors marked; however, the room descriptions should note the secret doors. Not all secret doors have info on how to open them. I leave that up to the referee.

Level 5 maps have been updated. There are 2 zip files, one contains 1200x900 maps and the other contains 2000x1500 pixel maps. The 1200x900 maps still show the S for secret doors.

The 2000 pixel wide maps don't have Secret doors marked; however, the room descriptions should note the secret doors. Not all secret doors have info on how to open them. I leave that up to the referee.

Note: These zips, and not on the web site yet, don't include any maps I have said I will work on for the level expansion.

Dwarf Home maps are typically 240' x 180'.

Clicking on a thumbnail map linked below goes to the page of a larger png, and any room redesriptions. The below pages will be updated when I add maps. Hopefully I'll remember to update the zip files as well.

Found some navigation menu errors on my Dwarf Home site, fixed them. Moved some links up to the top bar there, to give more room for future map links for future levels.

Added 2 more maps to seventh level, uploaded all 9 maps for this level with rooms numbered. Hopefully future updates will have more done so my posts will be longer.

Working on updating, adding room numbers, etc. to level 5.

Problem: Level 5 zip is now 200 megabytes, no room descriptions. I am seriously looking to break that zip into smaller chucnks. Likely this will be one zip file per column of maps. Or maybe 2 columns of maps.

Level 5 is currently 6 columns, and to get it out to column B where the lake is that would make 10 columns. So, I will make smaller zip files sometime. Otherwise you would have to wait several mnutes for it to download. That wouldn't be polite on my part.

The downloads page now has 5 files for level 5 Dwarf Home, and I'm keeping the one large file for level 5 for those with higher bandwidth. The smaller files are there for those with metered service.

I have stopped updating Dwarf Home for the time being.

Levels 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7 maps are available as zip files on the aforementioned downloads page.

Since the level 5 zip is over 200 megabytes, I have gone ahead and made column zips for level 5: Column E, FG, IH, and KJ are the zip files. The total megabytes is larger than the total level 5 zip, but I broke them up for those on a metered service.

If I get some progress on other mapping projects, I'll see if I can find time to work on zips for level 2 and level 3.

However, I have added room numbers to Dwarf Home Two. A remake, very slowly being done, of Dwarf Home.

I'm using effects such that room walls popup and look 3D.

Dwarf Home Two has more maps:

level 1, has 11 maps and level 2 has 5 maps.

If there are several requests, when I make a downloads page for DH 2, I'll have one zip for the maps as you see them, and another zip with no text.

Level 2 of Dwarf Home two has 6 maps and 77 rooms. I have started on level 3, 1 map of 7 rooms so far.

And here is something I will incorporate starting with this dungeon.

You're welcome. I plan on making Dwarf Home Two 11 levels deep. Same for Dwarf Home. Also hope to have 'spring off' areas that connect to the Under Dark.

Since my work on the Profantasy Community Atlas, I have learned to make underground lakes, sinkholes, etc. that look like they are lakes and sinkholes. I have started adding them in to my maps on my sites.
